Tampa’s River Round Table invites the media to join local leaders in exploring the mysterious and seldom seen Middle section of the Hillsborough River. A press conference will be held on the banks of the river to preview the sites to be revealed in the subsequent boat trip. Pontoon boats will then ferry passengers downriver to explore Orange Lake and the shoreline above Rowlett Park’s City reservoir.
The River Round Table, founded by Tampa City Councilwoman Linda Saul-Sena, focuses on the various attributes and opportunities for conservation and restoration of Tampa’s principal natural resource, the Hillsborough River. In previous State of the River tours, participants and media have discovered how the Hillsborough River truly lives up to its name as the Heart of Tampa, and how its value to the City can be improved through better stewardship of this resource.
