Dear Community Member,
The Urban Charrette invites you to participate in Tampa Bay’s Green Week – ECO.lution. To be held April 17-22, 2008, ECO.lution is a series of community-focused happenings designed to educate and engage the public in making Tampa a sustainable city.
ECO.lution is an important opportunity for citizens to come together to better understand sustainability and its relationship to our education system, the economy, the natural & built environments, the arts, and personal health. Events will include a green festival, live music, outdoor green films, educational presentations from visionary speakers, social events, and a green product/service exposition. To us sustainable means connected, healthy community and a strong local economy.
ECO.lution offers an exceptional opportunity for your company to gain visibility in the emerging green economy and for your products, services and ideas to be embraced by thousands of potential customers. The ECO.lution Innovation Expo, on Saturday April 19th, will include displays from prominent national design firms, locally owned businesses, green product manufacturers, and local schools and government all with an overriding goal of sharing information about products and programs to help local residents, public officials, and design professionals be more sustainable.
ECO.lution will be held at unique locations throughout Downtown Tampa, including Lykes Gaslight Park, the Franklin Street Mall, and the Tampa Convention Center. Our intent is to utilize the urban core as a stage to showcase the innovative solutions that will make Tampa a sustainable city.
The Urban Charrette is committed to facilitating the relationships and collaboration needed to build a more sustainable Tampa. We have no illusions about the enormity of this challenge, but are confident that the citizens of Tampa Bay have the talent and collective knowledge to work with us and develop the solutions needed to achieve this task. We hope you will join us in celebrating the promise of sustainability and the potential of Tampa.
